it turns out meditation can empirically reliably produce outlier experiences
- i like twitter, and somehow the algorithm kept on pushing me towards the side of twitter that talks about AI research and meditation/spirituality/psychology (and a large portion of them happened to be bay area?? what) and what really intrigued me was that these were extremely smart intelligent rigorously scientific people who were talking about really woo things like they were plainly real (eg nick cammarata used to be a researcher at open ai before pivoting to other ai research) and they kept on saying it was highly transformative and basically the approximate solution to how to feel good
- it turns out that it’s just plainly true that if you do a good amount of high-quality deliberate practice on specific meditation practices, then you do end up having these experiences .. it turns out that this is just a property of the mind/body that if you meditate in xyz way then you do end up feeling xyz like the buddha said so
