hello! i'm corbin.
(( right now this project is approx 2-8% complete, maybe check back in 1-3 weeks. ))
this site is my attempt to publish some anticonfusing notes on:
- how can we reproducibly improve baseline wellbeing by multiple orders of magnitude? (i.e. rigorous wholesome happymaxxing)
- working on [lovingly untangling our inner world] via experiments with [imaginal-somatic memory reconsolidation / internal family systems / coherence therapy / gendlin focusing]
- working on [investigating & undoing particular 10-40hz mental motions which cause ~all suffering] via [meditation]
if you’re new here, these are good starting points maybe:
im writing mainly about the meditation part because that's the more confusing part. the field is largely preparadigmatic and most pedagogy isn't really great and there's a billion big misconceptions about the whole thing. and there's so few decently anticonfusing resources, so i wanted to help contribute to that.
i'm not an advanced meditator (yet), but it feels like after 7 years ive finally passed "level zero" of having a minimally viable comprehensive coherent understanding of wtf this is all about.
like imagine im not at all advanced at tennis but i never even knew there was a net and that i had to hit the ball over the net, bc all the mainstream tennis coaches were rly confusing and never talked about the net, and even most advanced coaches/players that ive seen also surprisingly never talked about the net, and only in the past 1-3 years ive finally found some people talking directly about the net. im still bad at tennis but now i understand theres a net and i rly wanna share that anticonfusing fundamental fact to other confused onlookers/beginners.
this writing is less like actual posts/articles/essays, and it's more like a casual collection of notes, bookmarks, articles, excerpts, tweets, and messages that i just cleaned up so that it's sufficiently sorta presentable/legible.
